The HSE has conducted a “review” of its Enforcement Management Model in relation to Covid-19, following pressure from HSE Board members, the TUC, and unions.
Particularly, there was concern over the categorisation of Covid as ‘significant’ rather than ‘serious’; and a lack of enforcement notices being issues to employers.
The outcome of the review published yesterday, in short, is that HSE’s response has been proportionate and nothing needs to change.
The HSE is providing a briefing to TUC Executive Council members on 29th June, where they can ask questions of this process and the model.
