British Copyright Council (BCC)

Bectu is a member of the British Copyright Council (BCC)

The union is a bit different to most BCC members. While many of our members are very creative, and active contributors to the creation of the theatrical / artistic / film / TV works they are involved in, we don’t really represent people who have exercisable authorship rights.

However, our members benefit from creators having strong enforceable rights so we’re very supportive of your their without having too much to add to the kind of details that they discuss a lot of the time.

However, we are very interested in any initiatives that will help our members to form viable collecting societies that can recognise their creative contribution. So we are interested on behalf of editors (in documentaries, etc), lighting and sound designers in theatre, and one or two others.

They have a working group about Collection Management Organisations.
