TUC webinar on safe working restrictions

The TUC are encouraging people to sign up for their national webinar on the 28th July, which is focused on organising to keep work safe as restrictions end.

The government has said social distancing and face coverings are no longer a legal requirement, but there is still a legal requirement to manage Covid risk at work. While the number of people vaccinated offers protection, exposure to Covid can still cause health and financial complications for many. There also remains a heightened risk for shielding workers, and a risk of Long Covid among the whole working population.

A safely managed transition out of lockdown is the best way to protect health, the economy, and the NHS. The TUC are unhappy about what they say is a failure to consult unions or employer groups on its new guidance.

They are also organising online events for safety reps on a regional/national basis to discuss concerns and organising over safety, more details to follow.
